What if we really were created by the Sumerian’s Annunaki?

Based on the translations and interpretations of the linguistic scholar Zecharia Sitchin, the race of man was created through a process of genetic engineering by a race of aliens who had taken possession of this planet a long, long time ago. According to the Sumerian tablets, written in the ancient cuneiform, we were developed to be a subservient race of workers. That events transpired to convince the aliens to establish human self-rule is inconsequential to the implications that we were “made” instead of evolved.

The fossil record shows that Homo sapiens appeared suddenly and unexpectedly among the indigenous Neanderthals that had existed in an unbroken bloodline from the earliest primates. Sociologically, cities, economics, and government seem to have emerged full-blown in all their complex glory along with their predominance on this world by Homo sapiens. Is there a genetic reason we as a race seem to need someone to be in awe and devotion to?

As proposed by the director of the Gene Structure and Regulation Unit at the U.S. National Cancer Institute, Dean Hamer, there is a part of our genetic code, gene VMAT2 that affects the chemistry of our brains. It is responsible for a measurable psychometric sensation of awe or spirituality in the presence of what is interpreted as a “higher power” or mystical event. He states that this is an heritable trait that coincides with survival through natural selection.

If we were indeed “designed” by alien masters, would it not stand to reason that a “built in the mainframe” sense of awe for our creators would make a useful control element in the servant race? This same sense of spirituality caused by manipulation of the monoamine levels of our brains can explain the rise and great success of a multitude of hierarchical religions.

Our own genetic engineers are rapidly approaching the threshold of the day they can slice and dice genetic code to assure a body engineered to precise instructions. The genome has been decoded and understanding of it intricate correlation to the physical body and the deeper psyche grows apace. While the theory is highly controversial it is an indicator of what direction genetic manipulation can take.

Is it even possible for the human race to free itself from these physically influenced feelings of mystery and awe because a monoamine transmitter is juggling the levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamin being released into the bloodstream. How do we truly determine what is worthy of our devotion?

VMAT2 has not been definitively proven to cause all the feelings of awe we experience in our lives. There is still plenty of room for a god in reality. The problem that faces man is to determine whether to continue feeling inferior to that spiritual sensation. Controlling the urge to worship long enough to make a rational examination of the phenomena takes a conscious effort. It is one worth taking though if we are ever to be able to look our “creator” in the eye with pride, whether they are from another dimension or just another planet.
